Lucas Nursery & Landscaping

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT Lucas installed arbs for us in mid May. We watered faithfully exactly as instructed. (Even more due to heat) As weeks went by, leaves started turning brown. We reached down under the soil and it felt dry. We discovered the burlap was double wrapped and tied tightly around the root balls and it was not cut open at all so water was not able to get to the roots. The installers were in a hurry and obviously did not know what they were doing. I reported it to Lucas on 6/11/26 and sent photos of the trees and the uncut burlap and they did not respond. I continued to follow up and finally told them I would need to post negative reviews on social media. Then they responded by saying “I apologize you feel this way, very busy this time of year” and “arborvitae’s need water”. HUH????? I said you must not have looked the photos. No denial their installer did job poorly or offer to come out and look nothing. Just basically ignored me.. their final comment was “ I'm sorry you feel so harsh. Hope all goes well and God Bless.” I did meet the owner in the store when we were selecting the trees. He was upset because I didn’t want the trees they picked out for us, t

Went to look for some shrubs, I’m not poor by any means but for a small bush in a 1 to 2 gallon pot for $71.99 with NO warranty at all… nope! I’ve seen the same size elsewhere at lower prices and a 1 yr warranty . I understand that some people just don’t take through their plants and they die and they return them, but not everyone’s like that. I think usually people who buy shrubs to make your yard looks nice and put the money into it. You’re going to take care of it. So no I won’t be buying from there… maybe a birdbath lol at least not shrubs,

I went specifically to look at larger balled and burlapped trees. Plant material looked great, and pricing was excellent. They will be my go-to for nursery plants now. No doubt. Also family run and they grow their own stock. Edited to add: 5 trees were installed quickly, and the crew was very polite and hard working. Very happy with the experience. Now excuse me while I go move the sprinkler!

I’d rather set myself on fire rather than give a single cent to Lucas Nursery. We were gifted a pine tree for our wedding, and it was purchased and planted by Lucas Nursery on 10/15/25,… after several delays in which we had previously received various different dates for tree planting. Those dates came and went without communication, however, ultimately, the tree was planted on 10/15. This is what the tree looks like as of, 5/09/26. It is suffering from severe transplant shock, root establishment failure, and winter desiccation. I emailed Lucas about the problem, with photos and receive no follow up. Upon calling Lucas, I was told if it is purchased “in the store” (over the phone purchases count as this), there is NO GUARANTEE on their trees (including those that they plant themselves), and IF you have a receipt (certainly they have record of their delivery and schedule of planting, yes?!?), they will “work with you”, but you will have to pay them money. Uh, so that another tree can fail!? Mighty generous of them indeed. Instead of having a permanent, beautiful symbol of our wedding, we have a dead/dying tree, and a horrible taste in our mouths. I would never shop there again
